Reefer Madness Gone Wild
Is it a full moon or something? I don’t know how else to explain the extreme stupid reefer madness confronting me thanks to my glowing black laptop. First, there is the story of a disabled woman living in British Columbia that is being threatened with eviction because she smokes medicinal marijuana. It makes me sick to think of the anxiety she is going through, worrying about having a decent place to live just because she smokes pot. Marylin Holston lives in an apartment in Vacouver and uses marijuana to help her deal with her pain. She is a double amputee that uses a wheelchair and has diabetes. She has lived in her apartment for eight years. When she notified the management that she had been prescribed medicinal pot by her doctor, she was given her eviction notice.
Then we have this story about a mother charged with child endangerment for letting her friend blow pot smoke in her childs’ face. I will grant you that this was not a very smart thing to do but it doesn’t deserve the involvement of the law. I mean jeez my parents let me sip some alcohol when I was a young child and nobody called social services. I guess they were smart enough not to film it. Charging the woman with child endangerment is just too much. How was the child in danger? Oh no! The kid got the munchies. It just goes to show that most people do not realize how completely harmless cannabis really is thanks to all the reefer madness propaganda people are exposed to.
