Blogging the Federal Election

Dated: 13 Sep 2008

I will be posting my thoughts on this federal election over at Democratic Space. I have to admit that the idea of blogging the election scares the crap out of me. There are so many smart people over there with such impressive biographies. I wonder if anybody cares what I have to say. I am just a simple horsey mom who does not participate in elections, outside of complaining about the lack of real choices. Anyway, I hope that somebody finds my thoughts interesting and that this will give me an opportunity to get more exposure for my blog, because let’s be honest here. All bloggers are desperate for attention and I am no exception. It drives me insane to watch teevee and not hear my views expressed anywhere. Why else would I bloviate on the internet?

Election Sign Sightings

Dated: 12 Sep 2008

I was bored yesterday evening so I drove around the neighborhood looking for election signs. So far, all I have seen are signs for Kelly Block of the Conservative Party and Nettie Wiebe of the NDP. I did not see any Liberal or Green Party signs. Stay tuned for me to rant about the “issues” this weekend.

Elizabeth May in the Debates

I am happy to be able to report that Elizabeth May will be allowed to take part in the debates. It just goes to show that Facebook and the blogosphere can actually make an impact on the real world. I finally have a reason to watch them. Do you think they will still scream at each other? Because I really hate that. I know that I didn’t waste my time watching the last debate or maybe I shut the TV off in disgust.

May not included in the Leader’s Debates

This is a terrible outrage. This is not a real democracy when you can exclude the leader of a major party with a sitting member of parliament. What complete bullshit. The media should have called their bluff. As if there was any chance that the leaders would actually refuse to go to a debate just because May was there. Give me a break. And you wonder why I hate politics.

Unless, of course, they are scared of her. Hmmmm this could be a big boost to her campaign!

I wish Elizabeth May good luck in the election and I hope she succeeds in her legal action.

Also, I have voted NDP in the past and that sure won’t be happening again anytime soon. #^%#%^ you Jack Layton. I expected this from Harper but not from the NDP.

Steven Harper: A Real Family Guy

He’s just like you. He loves being a Daddy and playing card games. This makes him qualified to run the country.

Such a warm, cuddly guy. I just want to give him a hug and a basket of puppies.
